I DIDN’T LEARN ABOUT THIS IN DRIVING SCHOOL
Stop says the red light, go says the green
Wait says the yellow light, twinkling in between.
KNEEL, SAYS THE DEMON LIGHT
WITH ITS EYE OF COAL
SAURON KNOWS YOUR LICENSE PLATE
AND STARES INTO YOUR SOUL
THIS IS ALWAYS FUNNY
I’ve only seen this legendary post in screenshots
if you think that labels don’t matter and nobody should use them, then you’ve probably never experienced the huge, indescribable relief of “oh my god there’s a word for how I feel” and “I’m not the only one”
The key difference between Sherlock and Elementary comes down to the way each show treats its protagonist. Everything in Sherlock revolves around Sherlock. He is the series’ sole reason for existing, and the dynamic remains frozen in amber. Sherlock will do something outrageous, everyone will gasp, but then he’ll solve a crime or offer a token gesture of commiseration, and everyone will move on. It gets old, because the show simultaneously wants its audience to be shocked by Sherlock’s behavior, and charmed by his roguish self-regard and evident brilliance, without much variation. Elementary takes a broader view. As Sherlock, Miller is often standoffish and arrogant, but he exists in a world that refuses to let him off the hook for his mistakes or his behavior; better still, he recognizes his failings, and is clearly working toward addressing them. This doesn’t mean the series is about “fixing” Holmes, or even that the character is inherently broken, but it allows for the possibility of growth and change. On Sherlock, Holmes is constantly bemoaning that he’s surrounded by idiots, and it’s hard to argue his point. On Elementary, Holmes is engaged in the slow, painful process of accepting that those “idiots” might have something to teach him. The former has its moments, but the latter makes for better television and more rewarding art.
A bar has opened that doesnât serve alcohol, and itâs surprisingly successful.
Brillig Dry Bar in Ann Arbor, Michigan doesnât serve alcohol, but owner Nic Sims is counting on customers not caring.
She hasnât had a drink in 20 years, and she wanted to create a space where peopleâincluding, but not limited to, recovering alcoholicsâcould gather to have fun and socialize without worrying about drinking. In other words, she wants Brillig Dry Bar to have âa bar-like convivial atmosphere, with snacks and drinks and conversation, without it being a bar,â she told MLive.com.
Sims runs the bar as a pop-up out of her husbandâs coffee shop, Mighty Good Coffee. She serves interesting non-alcoholic drinks, like Brooklyn Egg Creams, Pomegranate-Rosemary Sodas, and Vegan Pumpkin Chillers, as well as snack plates with meats, cheeses, and cookies.
Though some detractors have accused Sims of being anti-alcohol, the barâs opening night last Friday was packed. According to BuzzFeed, âBrilligâs first customers included former drinkers, pregnant women, Muslims, teenagers, and college kids.â
The next pop-up will be December 26.

Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel
Speaking their lines vs the final product
Why is Vin Diesel looking down? Is he worried he’s gonna forget his line?
Vin Diesel asked the director his inspiration for every line he did and did multiple takes until he was satisfied. He also recorded the line over 1,000 times and also recorded his lines in Mandarin, Portuguese, French, and Spanish so they could use his real voice in those versions. He’s looking at his lines because Vin Diesel is a dedicated motherfucking professional.
And then he showed up at the LA premiere like this:
Vin Diesel is so fantastic every time I hear people mock him I just want to be like “excuse you, do you know of any other multi-racial actor in Hollywood who’s fronted a blockbuster franchise featuring an unashamedly multi-cultural cast full of primarily non-white actors, and who has done it unapologetically over and over again for *seven* installments? NO, YOU DON’T, SIT THE FUCK DOWN.”
<3 <3 <3
Vin Diesel makes goofy movies like The Pacifier so he can keep making Riddick movies. He even went so far as to found Tigon Studios to make sure the Riddick video game was good (it was awesome).
I love Vin Diesel!
In high school and college, when Vin Diesel really rose to box office prominence, I used to hate Vin Diesel because he seemed like the kind of dumb macho guy that A. made fun of me a lot and B., well, A’s enough, isn’t it?
And then he went on “The Tonight Show” and talked in depth about his high school life as a hardcore D&D player. So. I’m on board with Vin Diesel now. And also, like, don’t judge people by how they look.
i don’t even care about the gifs. reblogging for the comments and cause Vin is my boy.
One of my favorite things ever was finding out Vin Diesel taught Judi Dench to play D&D
He also made the great short film Multi-Facial.
VIN DIESEL’S HEART IS AS BIG AS HIS MUSCLES.

LOL man.never forget white people did nothing first neither the best, they sleep and eat false propaganda,
Ugh, why the shit does that have to turn into a race thing? Why does EVERYTHING have to turn into a race thing?
because white people have made sure that everything is about race
as proved by the fact that when you say explorer, you think of a bunch of white guys walking the world and discovering it ~exotic wonders~ even though Zheng He travelled through Asia, to the Middle East, and even East Africa. But you’d likely never heard of him before.
Same reason you never heard of Ahmad Ibn Fadlan, an Arab traveller who, as early as the 10th century, went to the Volga area for diplomatic reasons. He wrote about it, much as Marco Polo would do later for his own travels, and is one of our sources on what viking were like (and by all accounts, he wrote about them more accurately than western scholars of the same period did)
Oh, or Ibn Battuta who travelled throughout Africa long before europeans did, and even went to Europe himself.
And that’s just some example of Muslim medieval travel writers
Everything is about race because white people keep telling everyone that their race is the only one who every got anything done.
i have heard of precisely zero non-european explorers ever in my life, and that fucking sucks. this exhibit is amazing and i need to learn more.
That boat is a frickin aircraft carrier comparatively. Holy crap. And no. Never heard a peep.
Zhenghe went to over 40 countries in Asia and Africa and probably went even further, but I didn’t encounter that in history books before. He brought gifts from China to every country he went to and everyone loved him. It was just like “Hey, I’m here with a water-helicarrier and a gift,” and the kings of every country were lilke “holy shit son well here have a giraffe.” There are paintings depicting him leading a giraffe as well. Check him out guys, he’s really cool
That is so awesome. Fuck western history. This is the real shit.
WTF = What The Freak
OMG = Oh my golly!
